Must my new or replacement windows have impact protection?

In Ormond Beach, buildings on the mainland are not required to have impact protection.  New buildings on the beachside are required to have impact protection.  Replacement windows on beachside need impact protection unless less than 25 percent of the glass area of the building is being replaced.  Impact protection can be provided by impact glass, approved panels or shutters, or plywood panels attached per the Florida Building Code.
