The County of Volusia, in partnership with the Florida Department of Health in Volusia County (DOH-Volusia), will hold a COVID-19 vaccination event for individuals age 65 and older from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14 at the Volusia County Fairgrounds, 3150 E. New York Ave., DeLand. Only the Moderna vaccine will be provided at this site. The site will operate as a drive-up site and pre-registration is required.
Appointments are required and must be made at volusiacountyc19fairgrounds1-14.eventbrite.com. Online registration will open at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13. Five hundred appointments will be available and are available in one hour timeslots. Once a timeslot is full, appointments will no longer be available during that timeslot. There is a maximum of two registrations per transaction online and three registrations per transaction via telephone.
Individuals who are not able to access the internet via a computer, tablet or telephone may call 866-345-0345 for assistance scheduling an appointment until registrations have reached capacity for this event. Calls will be answered in the order they are received and may be busy due to high call volumes. With a high demand and limited supply of vaccine, appointments are expected to fill very quickly.
Individuals will be required to complete a screening and consent form prior to receiving a vaccination. Individuals who have had any other vaccinations in the previous 14 days or tested positive for COVID-19 in the previous 10 days do not qualify for the vaccine. For the full list of screening questions which may disqualify an individual from vaccine eligibility, review section two of the form available at volusiahealth.com/shots.
Individuals must have an appointment to receive a vaccine and should arrive at the site during the hour which their appointment is scheduled. Due to limited capacity, individuals are encouraged not to arrive prior to their confirmed timeframe. Individuals without an appointment will not receive a vaccine. Vehicles must enter and exit the site via N. Prevatt Avenue.
DOH-Volusia will return to this location in 28 days to offer the second dose to those who are due. Those who receive a vaccination should return to the site during the same appointment timeframe as their first appointment in 28 days for their second dose. Individuals may not report to a different site for their second dose. When returning to the site, DOH-Volusia will only offer the second dose of the vaccine.
The County of Volusia and DOH-Volusia do not charge for COVID-19 vaccines. The only official website to make an appointment for vaccinations at the Volusia County Fairgrounds is volusiacountyc19fairgrounds1-14.eventbrite.com.
