In
1777, 13 gun salutes were fired during the nation’s first Independence Day
celebration honoring the original 13 colonies whose people had signed the
documents releasing our United States from Great Britain’s rule.
There’s
no place better to celebrate our nation’s 241 years of freedom than beside the
beautiful Halifax River in Ormond Beach. Citizens and visitors can enjoy
entertainment and fun-filled activities with no admission fee.
Entertainment
will stretch from City Hall Plaza across the Granada Bridge to Rockefeller
Gardens.
Rockefeller
Gardens will feature the “UpTUIT” band and City Hall will feature “Tie Dye
Road” both playing from 7:00 p.m. – 9:15 p.m.
Kids’
activities will be in Rockefeller Gardens (North Lawn) from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30
p.m. Kids’ activities include a moon walk, an obstacle course, a giant
slide, and more! Returning this year, there will be a photo booth,
balloon twisting, and a stilt walker.
The
finale of this celebration will consist of one of the area’s best fireworks displays!
The fireworks begin promptly at 9:30 p.m. on the Halifax River just south of
the Granada Bridge. This is the 20th year the event has been held on the
corners of the Granada Bridge and it now attracts visitors from other
states.
For
43 years, Santore has provided the anxiously awaited fireworks show in Ormond
Beach exciting all the spectators and reminding us of the history we are
celebrating on the fourth of July.
Those
with handicapped parking permits may park in the lot near Bailey Riverbridge
Gardens (where Pilgrim’s Rest Church is located), on the northeast corner of
Granada Blvd. and North Beach Street. Public parking includes the lot
behind City Hall, The Casements parking lot, and Fortunato Park.

Cassen
Park piers and boat docks will be closed at 7 p.m. on July 4.
South
Beach Street will be closed from Granada Blvd. to Mound Avenue; and Grove

guests in getting back and forth across the Granada Bridge. Pick-up and

the bridge, and at Riverside Drive and Granada Blvd. on east side of the

to the end of the shuttle service. The final shuttle will end at City

Please
