[ARCHIVED] Fire Hydrant Inspections May 29 - June 1, 2018

The Ormond Beach Fire Department will tentatively conduct fire hydrant inspections and water flow testing between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. at the following locations on the dates indicated:

Tuesday, May 29

-   North U.S. 1 and I95 and Destination Daytona

-   Fox Hollow Dr. to Silver Fox Tr. between S. Nova Rd. and S. Old Kings Rd.

Wednesday, May 30

-   Collins St. to Oak Brook Dr. between Division Ave. and Fleming Ave.

Thursday, May 31

-   S. Center Street to S. Nova Road between Laurel Oaks Circle and Calle Grande Street

Friday, June 1

-   North U.S. 1 and I95 and Destination Daytona

-   W. Granada Blvd. to Lionshead Dr. between Old Kings Rd. and Kingsbridge Crossing Dr.

These activities are performed annually to ensure adequate water is available for fire suppression needs.  If a fire hydrant is in your yard, please be sure that it is clear of any obstructions.

The flow testing procedure requires firefighters to open fire hydrants and flow water for several minutes to obtain accurate flow pressures.  This procedure may cause tap water in the area to become discolored or cloudy.  This is a temporary condition that can be corrected by letting the tap water run until clear, which could take a few minutes.  If the water remains discolored after a few minutes of flowing, please contact Ormond Beach Public Works at 386-676-3220.
