Ormond Beach is expecting freezing temperatures over the next few days and we want you to be safe in this uncommon Florida weather.

·        If you must be outside, dress in layers and wear a hat and gloves to stay warm.

·        Children and the elderly are most vulnerable to cold weather, so please make sure they stay inside or are dressed appropriately if they must be outside.

·        Bring your pets indoors or provide a warm shelter for them.

·        Bring cold sensitive plants indoors or provide a covering to protect them.

·        Turn your sprinklers off as the water could freeze if left on and could create a dangerous situation on streets or sidewalks.

·        Anytime there is freezing temperatures, there is the possibility of ice.

·        If you must travel, be cautious on roadways and especially bridges as transportation officials warn that a “Bridge Freezes Before Road” because bridges are exposed to air on all of its surfaces unlike a road.
