[ARCHIVED] Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) Opens - Sunday, October 8 - Wednesday, October 11

On Sunday, October 8, a temporary Disaster
Recovery Center (DRC) will open at the Florida Department of Health, 1845Holsonback Drive, Daytona Beach.  The DRC
will be open from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM through Wednesday, October 11.  The DRC will be available to people who wantto meet in person with a FEMA or SBA representative; however, you do not need
to go to the DRC in order to register.

FEMAIndividual Assistance:

Disaster recovery specialists will be
available at the DRC to answer questions about FEMA individual assistance andpossibly provide contact information for other programs.

If your primary residence was damaged and you
have insurance, call your insurance company to file an insurance claim as FEMAwill not duplicate assistance for losses covered by insurance.  You may still be eligible for assistance from
FEMA for damages not covered by your insurance.

Registering/applying is your first step ingetting disaster assistance.  If
eligible, disaster assistance can pay for uninsured or underinsured homerepairs, temporary housing, personal property and other needs through its
programs.  

You can register/apply online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov, or bycalling FEMA toll free at 800-621-FEMA (3362). Applicants using 711 or Video Relay Service may also call800-621-3362.  Applicants who are deaf,
hard of hearing or have a speech disability and a TTY, please call800-462-7585.  Multilingual operators are
available.

The registration/application process takesapproximately 15-20 minutes.  Before
calling, going online, or meeting with a representative at the DRC toregister/apply, having the information below will help to speed up the process:
 

           Social Security number

           Telephone number where he/ she can be
reached

           Address of the damaged property

           Current mailing address

           Brief description of disaster-relateddamages and losses

           Insurance information

           Bank account address and information

Residents with damages are encouraged to
register/apply as soon as possible.  


SmallBusiness Administration:

Small Business Administration (SBA)
representatives will be available to answer questions about SBA’s disaster loanprogram, help complete applications and accept completed applications.  The SBA Customer Service Center is open
Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM at 800-659-2955; or, you can visit theSBA website at www.sba.gov/services/disasterassistance.
