[ARCHIVED] Continued Storm Response

Following Hurricane Irma, the City’s first priority is to clear and open all the roadways for safe passenger and emergency vehicle passage.

Trash Collection:

Monday’s trash collection will occur on Tuesday, September 12, and Tuesday’s collection will occur on Wednesday, September 13.  There will be NO YARD WASTE PICKUP on Wednesday.   The regular collection schedule will resume on Thursday, September 14.

Yard Debris:

Yard debris should be placed curbside for pickup, but not in the roadways and not covering stormwater drains. Yard debris should not be in bags and should be separated from all other trash and construction materials. All construction debris must be kept separate from yard debris. Placing debris in the roadways will impact the storm cleanup as well as hinder emergency vehicle response. Please refrain from removing fallen trees or limbs from roadways.  If you find a tree or limb that needs removal, please contact Central Dispatch at 386-248-1777.

Water Conservation:

Hurricane Irma has caused widespread power outages throughout the Ormond Beach community which has reduced the City’s capability to pump and distribute water.  As a precaution, we are asking that ALL water customers conserve and minimize water usage at this time until crews can restore necessary power. By minimizing water usage, customers will assist the City in our mission of maintaining reliable utility service to all customers by lessening the impacts on both water distribution and wastewater collection systems and resources. Residents are asked to call 386-676-3220 with any questions.

No Open Burning:

Open burning of commercial waste, residential trash, garbage, lawn debris, clippings, trees or other debris on residential, commercial or industrial property is prohibited within the City. (City of Ormond Beach Code of Ordinances Section 9.2)
