WHAT IS A BUSINESS TAX RECEIPT?
A
business tax receipt is a tax levied upon all businesses within the City limits.
Payment of the business tax does not certify or imply the competence of the
receiptee. Within Florida most cities and counties have a business tax receipt.
DO
YOU NEED A BUSINESS TAX RECEIPT?
Any person who maintains a permanent business location or branch office within
Ormond Beach, for the privilege of engaging in or managing any business,
profession or occupation within our City.
BUSINESS TAX RECEIPT FEES:
Ormond Beach
has fixed business tax fees as established by the City Commission. These fees
are attached to a classification that would describe your business. All business
must submit a $30 application fee. Most home business tax receipt fees are
$52.50 per year, the exception to this would be certain types of contractors and
state licensed professionals.
BUSINESS TAX RECEIPT DATES:
Business tax receipt dates coincide with the City’s fiscal year - October 1st to
September 30th of the following year. Renewals are mailed every year in August
for the upcoming fiscal year.
VOLUSIA
COUNTY BUSINESS TAX RECEIPT:
ALL businesses located within our City limits must also purchase a Volusia
County business tax receipt. When you receive your Ormond Beach business tax
receipt, take it to the Volusia County Administration Center located at, 250
North Beach Street, Daytona Beach and you will receive a County business tax
