The Neighborhood Improvement Division became the newest division of the Ormond Beach Police Department team in 2005. The division consists of the Manager, Joanne Naumann, two Neighborhood Improvement Officers and one Environmental Improvement Officer.
Division responsibilities include the enforcement of a variety of codes and ordinances contained in the Land Development Code and Code of Ordinances. The Environmental staff responds to requests for tree removal permits and conducts landscape maintenance inspections on exiting commercial properties.
Neighborhood Improvement also coordinates a “partnering” effort with neighborhood associations, interested citizens and civic organizations to improve the appearance of neighborhoods.
Division activities resulted in a total of 7,418 code violation case inspections, 678 tree removal permit inspections, and 116 landscape maintenance inspections during fiscal year 2006-07.
