Chief Jay Cuddy supervises the Investigative and Specialized Services
Division, which has oversight of the Criminal Investigation Unit, the Evidence
and Property Unit, the Victim Advocate Program, and the Community Outreach Unit
(Police Athletic League, Neighborhood Watch, DARE and other programs). The
Criminal Investigations Unit is the investigative arm of the police department,
consisting of crime analysis, criminal investigations, major case
investigations, narcotics investigations, the Property and Evidence unit, and
the Victim Advocate Program. The Victim Advocate Program began with funding from a Victims of Crime Act grant in 2001. The Victim Advocate provides aid, referrals and support to victims of crime and other emergencies (click here for more information). The
Community Outreach Unit is a combination of both sworn and civilian personnel
who work together to provide a variety of services and programs to the community
such as crime prevention training, DARE, Neighborhood Watch programs, community
relations, the Police Athletic League, a Police Explorer post, and the Citizen
