| The Public Works Department provides the leadership
and guidance to oversee the operations for six divisions that provide many of
the vital services that residents and business owners rely on everyday.
In addition, Public Works provides administrative and technical support for capital improvements planning and CIP implementation. The department is responsible for about 75 percent of the City's annual Capital Improvement Program that includes the planned construction of major infrastructure improvements for roads, drainage, water and sewer, landfill, recreation and other city facilities. Information regarding solid waste, recycling and yard waste
collections: Holiday Schedule for solid waste collections: Solid waste (trash and yard waste) and Recycling collection take place every day and on all holidays - except on Christmas Day. There are no "make up" days, so if your collection day falls on Christmas Day, your trash, yard waste or recycling will be picked up on your next regular collection day when the recycling will be picked up on Friday, December 26 rather than Christmas Day. See the Environmental Systems page for more details on these services.
