Memorial Scholarship
Ormond Beach Police announce the creation of a scholarship fund in memory of
fallen Officer Robert Grim. The scholarship was formed in partnership with the
DBCC Foundation and the Volusia/Flagler Police Chief’s Association. The
following is a description of the scholarship as published on DBCC’s website.
One $500.00 scholarship for a new or continuing student who has been accepted
and enrolled in the Law Enforcement Recruit Training program at Daytona Beach
Community College during the semester for which the scholarship is sought.
Applicants must be eligible for employment under FDLE guidelines. Applicants’
essays must include a statement of need outlining their current financial
condition and state reasons for wanting to enter the law enforcement profession.
Scholarship recipient must intend to work in Volusia or Flagler County for at
least two years after completing the program.
