In March of 2000
the city began to re-write
the 800-page Land Development Code (LDC), which regulates the city's
growth and development as part of the overall Comprehensive Plan.
After
much community involvement, a rewrite draft of the LDC
was completed and was reviewed by the new Ad Hoc Committee for
the LDC Rewrite Process, as well as other citizen groups, city staff and
the City Commission.
The
City Commission gave final approval for the new LDC, effective January 14,
2004. The first updates to the Code were subsequently approved on March 16,
2004. If you have any questions, please contact the city's Planning Department
