Join the 5th annual City of Ormond Beach Mayor's Health and Fitness Challenge!

The 2017 Mayor's Health and Fitness Challenge will be held January 21, 2017 to April 15, 2017.  The January 21, 2017 Kick-Off Event will be held at the Nova Community Center, from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

New in 2017..
3 SURE ways to create SUCCESS

1. Join a SMART Fitness Team
 Each Fitness Center Partner will form a Fitness Team and have a Team Captain
 Fitness Teams offer:
  • Individual and group training
  • The buddy system to help everyone stick to the plan, and
  • Cooking, nutrition, dining & food shopping tips/talks
Fitness teams will form January 15 - 31, 2016 (first two weeks of the event) 
*Challengers are not required to join a SMART Fitness Team and may enjoy everything included in the event 

2. Define your WHY 
Team Captains will have agreed to help Challengers with SMART goals: 
  • Specific: Team Captain will plan/lead/organize group fitness/nutrition activities
  • Measurable: One group session/week; One 1/2 Personal Training Session/week
  • Attainable: Challenger can/will achieve milestone successes
  • Relevant: Team Captain will design a Plan for Success for each Challenger team member
  • Timely: Challengers get a weekly Check-in (phone, text, email) to stay focused.
Get: Fitness, nutrition, ways to feel better, have more energy and gain knowledge 
MORE: Fitness Teams have the opportunity to win cash prizes after the final weigh-in! 
Categories (tentative): Most Engaged/Active Challengers (number of hours of fitness / training / education per Challenger) and % Weight Lost (average) 

3. Focus on the Bottom Line 
Expect to have a rich and fulfilling experience! Being healthy feels great!
