Historic preservation endeavors for the City of Ormond Beach
are overseen by the Historic Landmark Preservation Board (HLPB),
with regulations developed by Planning staff and implemented by
the City Commission through the Land Development Code.
These regulations are designed to protect, enhance and perpetuate
the existence and use of properties of historical significance.

Certificates of Appropriateness
Certificates of Appropriateness, issued by the City with approval of
the Historic Landmark Preservation Board, are required for changes
in exterior appearance to contributing properties within the Lincoln
Avenue Overlay Distirct or for designated historic landmarks.
COA's are also required to build on or remove structures from the
Lincoln Avenue Overlay District, or for the demolition of a
structure of any contributing property in that District or any
structure built prior to January 1, 1950.
