Historic preservation endeavors for the City of Ormond Beach are overseen by the Historic Landmark Preservation Board (HLPB)
, with regulations developed by Planning staff and implemented by the City Commission through the Land Development Code. These regulations are designed to protect, enhance and perpetuate the existence and use of properties of historical significance.
Certificates of Appropriateness
Certificates of Appropriateness (Application
) are issued by the City with approval of the Historic Landmark Preservation Board, are required for changes in exterior appearance to contributing properties within the Lincoln Avenue Overlay District or for designated historic landmarks. COA's are also required to build on or remove structures from the Lincoln Avenue Overlay District, or for the demolition of a structure
of any contributing property in that District or any structure built prior to January 1, 1950.
