Victim Advocate Program
Creation & Purpose
The Ormond Beach Police Department Victim Advocate Program began with funding from the VOCA (Victims Of Crime Act) Grant in May 2001. It's purpose is to provide aid and support to victims of crimes and other emergencies. Advocates, both paid and volunteer, serve as liaisons between the victim, the judicial system, and a wide variety of social support services.

Advocates provide assistance in crisis intervention, in death notification, to the victims of crimes against children and the elderly, to sexual battery victims, and to victims of domestic violence.

Hours
Victim Advocate services are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm. On-call services are provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Services
The Victim Advocate Program provides assistance in filling out all forms for injunctions, victim impact statements, and crime victim compensation forms. In addition, emotional and personal support is provided during medical, criminal justice, or law enforcement procedures.

The Victim Advocate Program also serves as a resource and referral network for various forms of counseling, emergency needs assistance, substance abuse problems, and as a resource for parents having problems with their children.

The Victim Advocate Program is always willing to assist victims whenever possible. To access services or obtain more information, feel free to stop by the Ormond Beach Police Department or call 386-676-3529.
