The Planning Board reviews and makes recommendations to the City Commission regarding all applications for Comprehensive Plan amendments, rezoning, and Land Development Code text changes. The Planning Board conducts public hearings as necessary for the drafting, establishment and maintenance of the Comprehensive Plan and Land Development Code. It is the responsibility of the Planning Board to make recommendations to the City Commission regarding ordinances, land development regulations, and other proposals promoting orderly development in accordance with the Comprehensive Plan. There are seven members of the Planning Board, five appointed by each member of the City Commissioners, and two appointed at large. The Board meets on the second Thursday of each month in the City Commission Chambers. The Board is governed by Section 1.06 of the Land Development Code. Members are required to file financial disclosures.
